Lauren - Brownies
Lauren joined Brownies this year. She is already enjoying it! Her first meeting was on Oct. 2. There are only 9 girls in their troop right now, but this is only the 2nd year for the troop. Their first meeting, they got their very first badge. It was Brownies through the decades. The girls had to decide on a decade. 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, and even 80's. After that, they had to dress in that decade, play a game in that decade, listen to a song in that decade, and bring food from that decade. And Lauren picked, of course, the 80's!!!!
The pictures below are Lauren dressed up in the 80's. She was so excited, but felt so weird she said!!!! The song she picked was Material Girl by Madonna. She loves the song now and plays it on her mp3 player. (Morgan and I have had that song stuck in our heads for 2 days now!!!)
Lauren also had to come up with language from that decade. Her favorites were: "gag me with a spoon", "bad", "awsome dude!", "cheesy", and "lame". For her food, we took microwave popcorn (since that came out in the 80's) and Nerds (since those came out in the 80's as well.)
All of the girls had a GREAT time!
BTW, Lauren is now a brownie, which means that we will be selling girl scout cookies!!!!
